The nostalgia evoked by the quality of the photograph itself. The essence of a process, time stamped and dated by the very era it records. These photographic characteristics blanket my portraits, derived from images lovingly culled from an old wooden box, jammed with a lifetime of frozen moments.

   The pattern of the world's textures buzz and swirl, from fabric to foliage to flesh. Ghosts of light leaks and overexposure blur details to near extinction. The exaggerated contrast of shadows allows for only the finest hints of definition and expressionto reveal themselves.

   These are the details of my focus. To convey the spirit of the photographic source, while at the same time reaching back to the moment captured, to bring life and motion to a universal memory.
